01 Career Timeline
  1. After receiving his bachelor's degree in Political Science from the U.S. Naval Academy, Steve worked with the Congressional Office of Legislative Affairs before becoming a Naval Flight Officer. He learned military-grade discipline and focus, while becoming known for his uniquely creative approach to work and life.

  2. Following deployments in Japan, the Western Pacific, the South China Sea, and the Persian Gulf, he joined the White House Military Office, developing and maintaining crucial Presidential and Vice Presidential emergency plans. Working across the White House and Pentagon, Steve saw firsthand how leaders operate when every decision has international implications.

  3. Further developing his strategic acumen, Steve joined PricewaterhouseCoopers and began angel investing while serving as a Management Consultant at the firm. He then founded District Ventures, an angel investment group where he also served as Managing Partner.

  4. In 2015, Steve became Lyft's first Operations hire in the Washington, DC area, serving as General Manager, DC before becoming General Manager, Mid-Atlantic and Regional Director, New York and Mid-Atlantic. As an early employee at Lyft, he worked through the company's hypergrowth and IPO, leading operations in some of the most important and complex rideshare territories in the U.S.

  5. Steve went on to serve as COO of Fixt, COO of Big Health, and Co-founder and COO of HipTrain. Steve is also the CEO and Co-founder of EVPowerInsights, a weekly newsletter in the electric vehicle and charging infrastructure space with more than 10,000 subscribers.

  6. In his work as a COO, Steve began to realize how rewarding it is to advise and support leaders, bringing CEOs' and founders' visions to life. He began informally mentoring leaders in his circle, before formalizing and scaling his work, advising executives and heads of investment firms. Steve developed a unique methodology for fostering leaders' growth, combining combat-tested discipline, founder creativity, and operational experience.
